Grade 3-5-These books open having a general breakdown of the topic plus a delineation in the basic materials and needed equipment. What follows are 9 or 10 projects on double-page spreads, with simple numbered directions and clear, colorful photos from the steps and materials, and girls and boys displaying the finished products. Many in the designs are produced from multicultural sources. Decorative Painting shows the way to decorate wooden spoons, jars, gift boxes, eggs, and rocks; tips on how to use trompe l’oeil techniques; and how you can make a mirror framed by the Picasso motif. Mosaics includes directions for the African mask, Egyptian necklace, along with a book cover by having an Aztec design. Paperfolding shows more clearly than most books of the type the way to make hats, airplanes, a pinwheel, cards, a mask, and boxes. 01This is a great high-interest and low-level reading book and series. The books are small with large print resulting in 50 pages long with numerous pictures. They aren’t exhaustive for that topics covered, nevertheless they give a lots of information because they are concise the fact that the book’s size. Special features are Did you know… fact insets, a roadmap, glossary, number of other resources, along with an index. After an attention-getting introduction, the chapters start out with a story with regards to a particular incident after which go into the content with the chapter. Difficult words are also explained in parentheses besides finding yourself in the glossary. In this book, several chapters cover how fires are started and ways in which they spread, the various types of fires, and the way fires are fought along with prevention techniques.
